My Story (MY ENCOUNTER WITH BANGALORE'S STREET DOGS) - 013:

This particular incident happened while I was working in a BPO. One night while at work, I got sick. I took leave and decided to walk home as my office was at a walkable distance from my home. It was almost midnight, the street was empty and quite eerie and I was the lone soul. As I was approaching my house, I saw a pack of hungry dogs running towards me from all corners (BTW, I was and I am still scared of Dogs). Suddenly, the dogs surrounded me and were barking at me as if I was an intruder in their territory. Fear crippled me and I was standing there motionless. I knew that I can’t outrun them so I stood my ground, praying to God and hoping that they would back away. I was certain that I am going to get some nasty bites that night. (A similar incident took place with one kid a week before in that area and it didn't end well).

I had already (surrendered) sat down there trembling and sweating; my eyes tightly closed and ready to face the consequences. Amidst all the fear and confusion, came one of the most unexpected miracles that ever happened in my life. Out of nowhere, 4 dogs came to my rescue. The 4 dogs chased the other hungry dogs away. Later on, I found out that these dogs were staying in my lane and we used to feed them occasionally. They walked together with me, surrounding me and protecting me till I reached home safely. I know that they would have given up their lives protecting me if it's needed. God’s blessings and miracles are unpredictable and it happens to believers when they need it the most. God can do things we cannot even imagine, but the sad part is, as humans we are often impatient and tends to judge and put the blame on the Almighty himself!
