Like all of you, I have had many turning points in my life; some were sweet and some very bitter. However, some of them were life-changing events that have made me who I am today. I am mentioning here few interesting twists and turns in my life and career.
My biggest turning point occurred on ‘9th May 2003, at 6:30 am’ when I gave my life to God. Interesting enough, God’s saving grace came to me in the form of the old song, ‘Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest’. The particular moment when I was singing the song was of absolute glory in God’s name and from then on, every step I took I committed to Him.
My first job was at a mobile shop (My Sister’s acquaintance); it was the same person who gave me the brakeless bicycle (I hope you guys remember…LOL). After working with him for few months, I decided to hunt for another job. It was a tough decision for me because finding a suitable job was not easy and I didn’t have any backup plan. After a lot of head banging, I went to his house and returned the bicycle in his absence. And as I was coming out, I turned back to have a last glance at the brakeless bicycle, which sort of became my silent companion. I took with me all the incredible experiences I have had with my bicycle and moved on. Leaving the job at the mobile shop was a turning point as it was ‘back to square one’ for me.
The turning point in my career was when I got a job offer with DS-MAX Properties Pvt. Ltd. It was a corporate job and you can imagine the level of excitement in me. Much to my dismay, the initial days with DS-MAX Properties was quite slow as I didn’t have much work. I used to even doze off at work hours, sometimes. But then, I felt assured that there is something beautiful waiting for me. And no wonder it became one of my greatest turning points and I went on to become the Chief Brand Officer of the company.
The last turning point was when I decided to resign from the post of Chief Brand Officer to start my own venture. It was scary, but at the same time, it was thrilling and exciting. The most difficult part was, leaving behind the relationship I have maintained for more than 8 years, yet, I moved on. I resigned but I am sure God has already kept in place, another interesting turning point for me to uncover…
